Sprememba google algoritma

Darren – In regards to .EDU/.GOV backlinks. Based on what we have heard from Google itself, they have effectively removed all ‘added’ authority to these sites to stop them from getting link spammed. Is there any added benefit of going through the added work of getting these links left?

Eugene – Yes, I think it is possible there is still a bias on these links. The simplest way to look at it is that they are still quality sites and if you have the ability to get a backlink from them, then it is most certainly worth your while. The best thing to do is track your rankings and see what is working.

*as a side note, outside of UAW, we own a number of health related sites that in the past we had never been able to get to rank above governmental and education sites. When this ‘authority’ change took place we saw an immediate jump in rankings of our most competitive keywords to the point that they moved above most, if not all of those sites. This simply confirms to us that there certainly was a bias, but it has since been removed.

*on another note, from our understanding, it was the .EDU/.GOV sites that made this happen. From what we heard, they made the request to Google because of the high level of link requests they were receiving due to this bias.
